
Gintautas Babravičius, the leader
The author of the Trek around the world idea and the leader. Gintautas has been on the road since his teens and is a veteran of numerous expeditions with the Wanderers Club – Kamchatka, Tunguska, Mongolia, Himalayas, Iceland, Africa, Mexico, Bolivia, Peru, and the list keeps on going. Gintautas will be in charge of this journey, while also taking on the roles of a driver and navigator.
Algirdas

Algirdas Kaušpėdas
A man of many talents – an accomplished architect, a journalist, a TV producer, an entrepreneur, a singer and song author in the famous rock band “Antis”, and a devoted traveler to boot. Algirdas will be making sure that the trek is well covered in the media and driving throughout the journey.
Vaidotas

Vaidotas Marozas
A life-long car enthusiast, Vaidotas has been driving and tinkering with mechanics since he was eleven. He is the founder of Vilnius Off-Road Club and a long-time partner in travel with Gintautas, the trek’s leader. As ever, Vaidotas will be in charge of the trek’s vehicles, as well as the second-in-command.
Michael

Michael Mattig-Gerlach
Michael is a journalist of over 30 years experience, a seasoned traveler and a fast friend of Gintautas and Lithuania. He has traveled across the Baltics and Russia, criss-crossed the African continent and both Americas, and documented his travels in over 30 films broadcast on German television. Michael will be making a film about this journey and overseeing its coverage in foreign media. He is also covering the trek on his personal website, be sure to check it out.
Vladas

Vladas Ščiavinskas
Vladas is a photojournalist and a constant travel companion of Gintautas for over 10 years. Together they have gone to Mezen in the stark Russian North, to Lake Baikal and Mongolia, and South America. Along all these travels Vladas made sure that the beauty they witnessed was captured. And this is exactly what he will be doing in the Trek across the world – making sure that the journey experiences are immortalized and can be shared across the world.
Edmundas

Edmundas Jonikas
An avid traveler, Edmundas has been a part of many an expedition – from mountains and caving to tundra and the Arctic, on foot, in a car, astride a yak in Tibet, or riding dog sleds in the North. Edmundas has seen and learned much in his travels, and will be putting his skills to good use in the Trek across the world as chief of camp and travel equipment.
Ieva

Ieva Kieraitė-Aleksandrova
A scientist, experienced caver and climber, and National Geographic’s young explorer – adventuring and exploration is Ieva’s constant game. And the Trek across the world is her biggest game yet. Ieva will be one of the two medics looking after the crew members’ health, and also supervising her fellow travelers’ nutrition.
Vilius

Vilius Aleksandrovas
Vilius is an experienced traveler with countless caving expeditions under his belt, who also does rock climbing, sailing, off-road driving and is an IT professional. He will be in charge of the trek’s IT and electronics, and will be driving and navigating as well.
Aistė

Aistė Simėnaitė
The Trek across the world is a dream come true for the young and enthusiastic traveler Aiste, who is putting her journalistic abilities to hard use to ensure that the project is well covered and communicated online, before and during the journey.
Vaiva

Vaiva Marozienė
A lover of travels and nature, Vaiva will be taking care of the crew’s health for the duration of the journey as one of the two medics. Vaiva will also be lending her skills as a driver and overseeing the crew’s nutrition.
Vytenis

Vytenis Labanauskas
Although travels are not Vytenis’ primary activity, he has been yearning to journey around the globe since his youth, when he first found the joys of travels while visiting Altai and in road trips across Europe. Vytenis has a considerable background in pharmacy and medicine, which might prove invaluable on the trek. However, before the trek’s launch, he is utilising his business and networking experience in overseeing the trek’s marketing and finding sponsors.
